Toilet Repairs

Resort Maintenance technicians have the experience and knowledge to properly repair just about all brands and models of toilet. When we make repairs to your toilets, we make sure the parts used are proper for your particular situation. Incorrect or ill-fitting parts can result in leaks, wasting thousands of gallonsToilet of water, causing your water bill to reach unbelievable numbers.

If your monthly water bill seems unusually high, a good place to start in determining the cause is the inspection of your toilets. Even if your toilet appears to be in good shape, there are many parts that can wear out.

If you can hear water running through your toilet, there could be one of several parts causing this problem. The toilet fill valve could be set too high or could be defective. The flapper assembly could be worn out; as the rubber deteriorates, it won't seat correctly on the flush valve, allowing water to seep past. The flush valve could also be worn out, displaying rough edges, which won't allow the flapper assembly to seal correctly. The flush handle and/or chain could be broken or adjusted incorrectly, not allowing the flapper to fully seat on the flush valve, again allowing water to seep past. Even if you don't hear any noises from your toilet, it could have a "silent leak." In this situation, the water quietly seeps through the flapper assembly, then when the water level in the toilet is low enough, the unit will sense the need to fill back up, and you will hear what is often called a "phantom flush."

If you see water around the base of your toilet, there are several areas that could be causing the leak. Some of the interior toilet parts, if defective, can cause water to run out and leak onto your floor. The tank-to-bowl area parts, the gasket or bolts, will allow water to leak out if not properly set and tightened. The wax seal at the floor flange will allow water to leak out if it is worn, too small or not properly set around the flange. The water supply line can wear out and leak either at the wall or at the connection to the toilet fill valve. Finally, one of the hardest leaks to find is a minuscule crack in the toilet tank or bowl. So, if you notice water around your toilet, call Resort Maintenance so we can send out a technician to properly diagnose your problem, and make proper repairs using proper materials for your toilet.
